Client: Presidencia municipal Lagos de Moreno
Project Date: 2014
Project Location: Lagos de Moreno, Jalisco, México.
The membrane lightweight structures for tepeyac park in Lagos de Moreno is a 2014 project developed for the municipal government.
The Sioen type 1 structural membrane cover consists of 3 low points and 3 high points in triple radial symmetry.
The arrangement of the space allowed an adequate structural optimization that allowed the structure to weigh only 7.5kg / m2.
The municipal government of Lagos de Moreno requested the membrane lightweight structures for Tepeyac Park as part of an urban recovery project.
Today these types of projects have become very controversial among the population. Since the government is considered to meet aesthetic needs above others.
However, park lighting as well as the recovery of urban spaces does not satisfy a merely aesthetic purpose. The recovery of interstices generates a local coexistence and provides recreational areas by reducing crime.
Abandoned and neglected spaces tend to be the focus of crime and drug addiction.
At hyparch we are proud to participate in the tepeyac park membrane lightweight structures as a contribution to the recovery of public spaces.
We were able to see a vacant lot used as a garbage dump become a living space for local families. Currently membrane lightweight structures for tepeyac park tepeyac is a local coexistence center that provides shade and protection against rain for local families.
Although it has not been its main use, the taut structure was intended to function as a cover for a local outdoor stage. The deck, in addition to being a great visual attraction for local residents, provides them with a safe space from the sun for outdoor recreational activities.
The tensile structures in Mexico have become very popular, making projects like the one for the tepeyac park membrane lightweight structures
increasingly visible in public spaces.
However, the membrane lightweight structures and tensile structures in public spaces are not exclusive. More and more such covers can be found in schools, shopping malls and private homes.
